Athens to Dubai

The route taken by Emirates avoids the worst trouble spots in the Middle East. As the sun set, there were strange lights on the aircraft wing.

Nafplio, Greece

NafplioI visited Nafplio in Greece recently. It is a harbor town with a rich history, due to its strategic position. The Franks, Venetians and the Ottomans all had a go at ruling Nafplio, before it served as the country's capital once it gained independence.
