### My question

How is question 4 in the black box false on Practice - Fractional Exponents - MathBitsNotebook(A1 - CCSS Math)

when the first example in the notes on Rational and Irrational Numbers - MathBitsNotebook(A1 - CCSS Math)

contradicts that?

@Phinah: The key thing on that page is in the directions at the top:

'Remember, TRUE means "true under any and all conditions".'

Now, the irrational number `sqrt(2)` can be expressed as a decimal, true?

Yes as 1.414

Well, strictly it would be `1.414...`, indicating the decimal form does not repeat or terminate.
