{"id":423,"date":"2006-10-15T13:00:57","date_gmt":"2006-10-15T13:00:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.intmath.com\/blog\/?p=423"},"modified":"2010-08-22T07:54:12","modified_gmt":"2010-08-21T23:54:12","slug":"jesus-would-certainly-not-drive-an-suv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intmath.com\/blog\/environment\/jesus-would-certainly-not-drive-an-suv-423","title":{"rendered":"Jesus would certainly not drive an SUV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently saw the 2005 documentary from the UK's Channel 4 called \"What Would Jesus Drive?\" [no longer available].<\/p>\n<p>The title of the documentary is the question posed by an environmentally-inspired <a href=\"http:\/\/creationcare.org\/\">Evangelical Environmental Network<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The  (EEN) is a network of organizations and individuals whose purpose is \"to declare the Lordship of Christ over all creation.\" As a non-profit, non-partisan educational organization, EEN works to help Christians and others understand a biblical approach to caring for all of Christ's creation.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>They explain further:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The purpose of the <strong>What Would Jesus Drive?<\/strong> educational campaign is to help Christians and others understand that transportation choices are moral choices, and to reflect upon the problems associated with transportation from a biblically orthodox, Christ-centered perspective.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The documentary talked about the over-reliance that the US has on gas guzzlers and showed some of the US advertising connecting the purchase of gasoline with the funding of terrorism.<\/p>\n<p>The epitome of craziness for me was the Californian family that had 6 cars.
