The slope of the tangent is

`m_1=[dy/dx] _(x=2)` `=3(2)^2-4(2)` `=12-8` `=4`

`m_1=[dy/dx] _(x=2)`

`=3(2)^2-4(2)`

`=12-8`

`=4`

The slope of the normal is found using m_{1} × m_{2} = −1
