IntMath Forum Principles

The IntMath Forum follows 5 simple principles to make it useful and enjoyable for all.

1. Mathematics is not a Spectator Sport

If you want to ask a question, you need to:

  • Show us what you've done so far, so we can see where you are getting stuck
  • Be willing to put in the effort to solve it yourself, with our help and guidance along the way

If you just ask a question and show no willingness to work on it and see it through to the end, your question won't be published.

2. Manners are the Lubricant of Society

"Please" and "thank you" are part of mutual respect. We'll use them and we'll appreciate if you do, too.

3. Nobody Plans to Fail...

... but many fail to plan.

To achieve anything, you need to be organised. Any posts that contain the word "URGENT" suggest poor planning, and will be moved to the back of the queue.

Please be patient - we'll get to your question as soon as possible.

4. There is a Difference Between Learning and Just Aiming to Pass

Those who are interested in learning how to solve their math problems will find the IntMath Forum valuable. Those wanting a quick-fix answer won't.

5. If we can't Read it, we can't Learn it

You are encouraged to use the Math entry system so the meaning of your math statements (questions and your working) is clear.
