Mozilla wiki - collaborative Firefox creation
By Murray Bourne, 29 Nov 2006
There are many examples of collaborative development using wikis.
I came across Mozilla Wiki just now where the development of Firefox 2 is being tracked.
I was struck by 13 downloads per second of Firefox 2 in the 31-Oct meeting notes:
Firefox 2 Post Mortem
- the press has been very positive (schrep: and people seem to dig the nature of this release, which isn't about shoving more in the box, but about keeping true to the slim & trim nature of Firefox)
- smooth release
- download numbers show maintained level of interest (average download rate is 13/s, peak of 30/s) across the world
Can our current students learn to collaborate like this when on the job? Or should we be teaching digital collaboration skills in school?
